The "ang mo" was no where to be seen (not that I am there to see him anyway), instead an middle age auntie and uncle was tending the stall. The stall is not your usual hawker stall. It was renovated very nicely and even has an computerised touch screen cashier (Cool hor?).
Their ice cream looked quite decent. One scoop cost $1.80 and two scoop cost $3. I asked if I can have two scoop of different flavour ice cream. The uncle answered quite friendly:"ok, charge you $3 lah. " (Isn't 2 scoops cost $3? Don't understand what he meant. )
Anyway, I asked for Green Tea and Chocolate. The strange thing is that he served 4 scopes of Ice Cream instead of 2. I wondered if it was due to the small ice cream scoops that he had to serve 2 scoops as one instead. The presentation is quite disappointing. I was hopping to see paper cup or something, instead it was the polyester foam bowl...
Green Tea was very mild and the flavour can be easily missed. There was bit of ice in the ice cream which makes it quite amature. The chocolate flavoured one was good though. It was very thick and creamy. Overall, I would give them 3 stars, partly due to the hot and dry weather yesterday. The cooling sensation deserves an extra star .
Besides ice cream, the shop also sells waffles with chocolate dip - $1.80 and fondue. The chocolate dip was also served in polyester foam cup too. Duh...
Verdict - Can try if you are curious
In fact, I don't just comment for the sake of commenting. I do know how to bake cake and make gateau. Maybe next year, I shall make one for myself. It will certainly not cost more than 35 dollars. :)
Verdict- Can try as it is unique but not strongly recommended.

Called back again to ask for directions. They asked if I would buy a lot from them, before directing me on the right track. Am thinking to myself that the cake better worth all these trouble. The only plus point of getting lost was finding a Singapore Pool store. I thus stopped to buy some Toto for tomorrow's mooncake 5 million draw. This might be a blessing in disguise. Hee Hee.
After 15 mins of walking, I finally found the shop. To my horror, it looked very neighbourhood. I mean I expected it to be neighbourhood, but not so ancient looking loh. I started to worry that the cake might not taste nice. Urban's recommendation should not be so bad, or is it? Honestly, there were a lot of customers buying mooncakes when I was there. If their products were bad, it would not have attracted so many people, isn't it... Well, I reckon I wasn't going to walk off without buying anything, so I decided to take a risk.
For those who wish to go there, you might want to know that it is directly opp Blk 451 and is near the Cheng San Market. :) You can call them as well to ask for directions, they, although busy (there are always second line ringing when I called them) erm... still quite friendly.

As it was taken in the day, there are no lights yet.
The shiny shiny dome of the mosque-like decoration shimmers under the sunlight.
Such foodstalls are a common sight along the street.
100 years ago, who would have thought that Temasek, the then-fishing village would evolve into this big Cosmpolitan city?
Yes, if you noticed, the decoration used Selamat Hari Raya as greeting instead of Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri. In that case, have the organiser have made a mistake? Well, I checked the Wikis, while Hari Raya Aidilfitri is the official greeting, Selamat Hari Raya is more commonly used by Malaysia and Singapore's Muslim, so technically they are not wrong either... Maybe there is no wrong or right, it is a matter of preference...
Well you can't really blame her. I mean people would not normally associate Bossini with green and white... I would think of blue when people mentioned Bossini.
Then at Plaza Singapura, we saw this...
It is a real coffin (of course empty) and even has flowers stands beside it. You might asked aloud: "Why is there a coffin at the shopping centre?"
.

It is a publicity teaser for the movie - Death at a funeral. This is how far would people go to grab some of your attention... It was stated as a british comedy movie and sound funny. I might want to go and watch it.
Anyway, we went for dinner later at Waraku. The selection there is amazing and I really think that their quality is better than Ichiban Boshi.
Seven of us ordered the following food:
Hotate Cream Udon
Ms Foong's selection. We had a scare when we saw the noodles, it comes in a basin practically. The portion is huge !!! The Udon is springy and taste wonderfully creamy with the sauce. Luckily she did not finish it, cause it is really fattening.
My Katsu Curry Don
The katsu was surprizingly thick, about 1.5 cm in diameter. Goodness! Could have been better if the meat was more juicy. I guess my colleague, Isabel would love this. :)
Northie's Teriyaki Don
Unlike most of the teriyaki that we have eaten, this look more authentic and grilled.
For dessert, we have the traditional ocha ice cream served with azuki beans and mochi.
and Ocha Ice Cream Cake
No different from the ice cream...
Blue Lagoon
Fizzy Navel
Planters' Punch
Chocolate Martini
Don't know whether it is shaken or stired, it tasted like Alcoholic Iced Milo.
Hee Hee.. )
